Principal's Message
Welcome to Yerington High School! The teachers, staff, administration and Student Council are here to help you through the 2009-2010 school year. The entire staff is committed to creating a school where learning is both exciting and challenging: we encourage you to seek the most from your classes so that you may obtain the best education possible for your future. YHS is the place where great things can happen. It is tradition. It happens here because the students, staff and faculty believe in making a difference. Be it in the classrooms, on the playing fields, on stage, or in the community, YHS is known as the place that sets the standard for everyone else. As you begin the new school year, remember that YOU make the DIFFERENCE!
This handbook was prepared to help you be successful in academics, clear about rules and expectations, and informed about special events and activities. The Daily Planner will assist you in meeting the goals of your teachers by helping you to organize class work and homework. Take it to every class with you and record each assignment and test on the appropriate day. The information section will help you assume responsibility for your behavior by clarifying rules, procedures, and expectations; read it carefully so that you are well informed.
Let's all show pride in ourselves and our campus, strive for excellence in all that we do, take responsibility for our actions and practice integrity as we deal with people and make decisions and make the 2009-2010 school year an exciting and rewarding one!
